Not waiting in line for the iPhone 3G

July 11, 2008 at 7:50am - View Comments

On June 28th, 2007 I waited in line for the iPhone (and spent 3 days talking to AT&T to get it activated). The experience was a good one… The stench of rotten trash from a nearby McDonalds dumpster and seeing a full-grown man get beaten by his girlfriend and her purse for spending the $500 are favorite memories.

Normally I’d be all over the line parties (seriously)… This year I slept in and am happy to wait for it to arrive in the mail. Maybe next year.

  • I am so about NOT waiting in line for it. I can wait a few days.
  • And how are you going to get it in the mail? You'll be waiting a long time (next year as you stated) because you can't order it online.

  • I didn't order it online. Corporate accounts with Apple are wonderful things. It requires nothing more than a phone call.
  • Slick. Wonder if I can get a corporate account for my small business (sole proprietorship).
  • As long as it's a real business (legally registered, etc) you should be fine. There is a mountain of paperwork to go through, but in the end well worth it (discounts and potentially tax free).
